Sesoko Beach

Sesoko Beach is located on the tiny island of Sesoko, accessible by bridge. We ended up here accidentally, we were slow pokes and had missed the first ferry to Miyako Island--the island you see in the first picture. We can't really complain though, it was gorgeous and quiet. The water had tons of coral rocks so we couldn't sit in the water and drink our Chu-hi, Japanese malt beers, but who are we kidding as if we had reason to complain on such a gorgeous day!

Hamahiga Island Dragon Boats

Hamahiga Island is a small fishing port island near our house. On this Sunday, we stumbled upon a small dragon boat matsuri (festival) at the port on our way to one of the amazing beaches on the island. Needless to say all the yummy smells from the vendors caught our attention. We indulged in yakitori, or teriyaki chicken on a stick, melon flavored kakikori (shaved ice) (extreme food coloring oh my), and a mango-apple boba (tapioca). Can't beat matsuri food, sunshine, and neon blue waters after months of endless rain.
